Autumn Workshop is a design and fabrication studio in Brooklyn started in 2011 by Daniel Goers. We look at design as a ongoing experiment with materials and fabrication techniques. We study ways in which modern aesthetics and functionality can merge with natural materials in a pleasing and artistic way. We love the idea of biophilia (a natural bond between humans and other living systems) and how that can translate into the furnishings we surround ourselves with. And so our products and furniture are really pieces of botanical sculpture, as much as they are lamps, or chairs, or objects.
Every item is handmade with locally sourced or reclaimed materials. And every item is made with love and care in limited runs!
Daniel Goers is a designer and maker in Brooklyn, NY. He is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology’s Architecture program. He practiced as an architectural designer in NYC for several years before moving into the hands-on world of carpentry and fabrication. Daniel maintains a practice of providing high end custom furniture and carpentry while leading the efforts of Autumn Workshop’s product design and fabrication. He also regularly delves into art projects, including public works and installations.
Autumn Workshop currently includes the support of Pat Lavelle for design/fabrication. Special thank to Ashira Israel and Ryan Pike for past help with fabrication and Phillip Romano for photography.
